Residential
Your home, documented before anyone quotes it.
Roof replacement and repair, siding, gutters, fascia, soffit and trim for single-family homes, townhomes and small multifamily buildings.
What we do on a home
Most of our residential work is asphalt shingle replacement, but a roof is rarely the only thing a storm or a winter touches. We look at the whole exterior: the roof deck and underlayment, flashing at walls and chimneys, valleys, vents, gutters and downspouts, siding, and the fascia and soffit that hold the gutters up.
- Roof replacement. Tear-off to the deck, deck repair where needed, ice and water protection at eaves and valleys, underlayment, flashing and ventilation done as a system.
- Roof repair. Leaks, wind-lifted shingles, failed pipe boots and flashing. If a repair is the honest answer, that is what we quote.
- Siding. Steel, vinyl and fiber-cement replacement and repair, matched as closely as the market allows.
- Gutters, fascia, soffit and trim. Seamless gutters, downspouts sized to the roof, and the wood or aluminum behind them.
Why we document first
Every visit starts with a walk of the whole home. We photograph, measure and write down what we find before we put a number on anything. You get a dated record of the roof, gutters and siding, the quote is built from that record line by line, and the record is yours whether or not you hire us.
That matters most when there is a storm involved. If you decide to file a claim, the same record is what we bring when we meet your adjuster, at your request. We document damage; we do not interpret your policy or negotiate on your behalf.
Minnesota homes, Minnesota winters
Roofs here have to handle summer hail and wind and then months of snow, ice and freeze-thaw. Ice dams at the eaves, undersized attic ventilation and old layered roofs are the problems we see over and over. We build every replacement with the eaves, valleys and ventilation in mind, because that is where Minnesota roofs usually fail first.
Many of the homes we work on are older, including historic homes in Saint Paul. Steep pitches, dormers, multiple layers and original wood details take more care, and we plan the crew and the schedule around that.
