Saint Paul · Ramsey County

Saint Paul roofing, from a Saint Paul company.

Our headquarters is here. So is a lot of the most interesting housing stock in the state.

Saint Paul housing stock

Saint Paul has one of the deepest stocks of older homes in Minnesota: Victorian and Queen Anne houses in neighborhoods like Summit Hill and Cathedral Hill, Craftsman bungalows and foursquares across the Midway, Hamline and Como areas, and post-war homes toward the city’s edges. Many were built before 1940. They tend to have steep pitches, dormers, turrets and valleys, original wood trim and, sometimes, slate or cedar under later layers of asphalt. That takes more planning than a simple gable roof, and we price and schedule it honestly.

Historic districts and permits

Parts of the city sit in designated heritage preservation districts, where exterior changes can require review before work starts. We check whether a property falls in a district, plan materials that fit the requirements, and pull the permits Saint Paul requires for the work.

Storms and winters here

Summer thunderstorms bring hail and wind across the metro, and the city’s mature tree canopy adds branch damage and clogged gutters to the list. Winters bring ice dams on older homes with limited attic ventilation, which is one of the most common problems we see on Saint Paul roofs. We document the roof, gutters, flashing and siding together, because on an older house they rarely fail alone.

Rooted in the neighborhoods

From 2011 to 2013, Aaron served on the Lexington-Hamline Community Council board, working with the City on a home-improvement and first-time homebuyer fund. Since 2024 he has led roof replacements on historic homes here. Every Saint Paul job starts the same way: a documented walk of the whole home, and a quote that comes out of that record.
